France: Fernand Braudel Mobility Scholarship-IFER

Foundation La Maison des Sciences de L'homme (FMSH) , the European Commission and various entities just launched a new call for mobility grants Fernand Braudel-IFER. They are postdoctoral fellowships for research in the Humanities or Social Sciences for a period of nine months.

A total of 53 scholarships, of which 13 are of free choice of destination in France, while the other 40 are assigned to be awarded and pre laboratories .

Features: The allocation of the Fernand Braudel-IFER scholarship is 2,000 euros per month, plus including health coverage in France, travel expenses and other costs (documentation, participation in meetings, etc.).

Requirements

1- Applicants must reside outside France and belonging to a non-French research institution (university, academy of sciences, or other research organization).

2- Applicants may be of any nationality but at the time of application, researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc) in France for more than twelve months in the three years immediately preceding the closure of the call.

3- Applicants must possess a PhD (or equivalent) on the date of application (ie, successfully defended the dissertation).

4- Applications must be submitted within six years of receiving PhD. Exceptions may be made in the case of a career break (eg interruptions due to maternity leave, illness, etc).

5- Applicants must be fluent in one of the working languages ​​of the host laboratory; fluency in French or English is preferable.

6- Applicants may not apply to any laboratory in which the applicant has worked at any time during their scientific expertise (including during doctoral studies).

Documents needed:

1- Application Form (to be completed online).

2- Curriculum vitae.

3- List of publications.

4- Detailed research project proposal (5-8 pages, plus a bibliography of maximum 2 pages).

5- Copy of PhD diploma.

6- Summary of the doctoral thesis of the applicant (maximum 2 pages)

7- Two letters of recommendation from scientific experts. These can be included in the online application or sent directly to the following address, by email ifer.incoming@msh-paris.fr ; or by mail: Fernand Braudel-IFER Scholarship Program (please specify: incoming/outgoing); FMSH, Office 328; 190 avenue de France; 75648 Paris Cedex 13, France where applicant should check the appropriate box on the online form indicating that the letters arrive separately. Please make sure that the letters are received before the close of the call.

8- Invitation letter from the director of the institution or research laboratory, agreeing to host the applicant for the duration of the scholarship.

- Documents from 2 to 8 must accompany the application in one document (PDF, Word or unique formats Zip)
